RECORDS POLICYOur records are available Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Requests will be handled by the dispatchers during business hours. The records of the Willard Police Department are not checked prior to computerization in 1999 unless specifically requested. The Willard Police Department is bound by Ohio public record law and the department's approved retention schedule. The Willard Police Department will complete background checks of potential renters for property owners and of potential employees for employers. We only search the records of incidents that occurred in the city limits of Willard. We can only release records that have been disposed of in court and are not under an active investigation. Knowing the name and social security number of the party involved, along with the date and time of the incident will greatly help the search for the record. Accident reports will be released only when the officer has completed the report. It is recommended that you call first to ensure the report will be ready for you when you arrive. Online Reporting is provided solely as a convenience, if you require an official record please obtain one from the police department and do not rely on the online reporting to be completely accurate as it does not retrieve data from the live database. Online reports show only incidents after January 2014. If you have any questions, please call (419) 933-2561.
